Agricultural Society donated $4,000 to the Food Bank to be used to
purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from local growers.
This month we gathered our anual hungercount stats to compare poverty

The Food Bank officially launched the Healthy Choices program this week (Feb. 7th) in partnership with The Ismaili Muslim Community, The Best Western Regency Inn & Conference Centre and The Abbotsford Sumas Rotary Club.
Healthy Choices is a
new initiative of the Abbotsford Food Bank. The program will aim to
provide healthy choices for people that access the food bank (i.e.
Dairy, fresh produce, frozen meats, etc.) Watch for more information on the program in the coming month! The Abbotsford FoodBank is also in the midst of launching a new program called REAL Mentoring, which provides interest clients with Relationships EncouragementAccountability and Listening Support. We are currently in need of mentors, if you are interested please contact us for more information. Ask for Laura or Dave.

The Food Bank is accepting food donations for the Help Haiti project of the Abbotsford Vineyard. Lets help them fill 10 containers to ship to Haiti earthquake victims. Please let us know when dropping off items that they are for Haiti
Christmas at the FoodBank was a little..."crazy" to say the least. However, with the help of many individuals and businesses the Christmas Bureau was able to provide food and Christmas hampers to 717 families including 1,222 kids.
A big
thank you to ALL the schools and businesses that did food drives, our
shelves are filling and we are very optimistic for the coming year. We are
so proud of you Abbotsford!
