Introducing the Abbotsford Food Charter! ![]()
The Archway Food Justice program, alongside the City of Abbotsford’s Abbotsford ACCESS, Fraser Health, UFV’s Food & Agriculture Institute, and the Abbotsford School District, is proud to launch a new community-driven vision for our local food system. ![]()
As the agricultural heart of British Columbia, Abbotsford plays an important role in regional food production and food security. This Charter affirms that food is a foundation for community health, culture, and resilience as well as the economy. ![]()
“This Charter is a powerful tool for collective action. By clearly outlining shared values and priorities, it helps ensure that future food‑related initiatives reflect the needs and aspirations of Abbotsford’s diverse communities." shared Rebecca Thuro, Manager of Food Security. ![]()

We’re so grateful to Chalo Fresh Co, Empire Company Limited and Sobeys Inc who are dedicated to giving back to the community. Together with their customers they were able to raise $8,847.02 for Archway Food Bank’s diverse food program - Seva Food. This support comes at a crucial time. This funding helps ensure that familiar foods are available when one needs to turn to the Food Bank for support. Thank you for helping create a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
Please note that most Archway locations will be closed on July 1 for Canada Day, with services resuming on July 2.
Canada Day can be a time to reflect on the many histories that shape this country. We acknowledge that the benefits many experience today are connected to a history that includes the displacement and harm of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities.
We encourage everyone to take time to learn, reflect, and consider how each of us can contribute to meaningful reconciliation and a future grounded in justice, opportunity, and equitable access for all.
