This program exists for those in Abbotsford who are experiencing mobility limitations and are unable to attend in-person appointments. A successful applicant to the Home Delivery program will receive one delivery per month of non-perishable and fresh food items directly to their home. Space is very limited. Satellite Locations

We have Neighbourhood and Program Satellites. Neighbourhood Satellites offer alternative hours and proximity benefits for those needing to access no-cost food. Program Satellites make food hampers available to those needing to access no-cost food and are enrolled within an existing program, hosted at the program site. Satellite locations help decrease barriers to food access.

Fresh Food Recovery

The Abbotsford Food Bank has partnered with local grocery stores to provide access to healthy produce to those living with food insecurity.

How it works

 

Story

A mom who has benefited from the fresh produce said this:

“I have dietary restrictions and the produce my family and I need is too expensive to buy each week.  I am so thankful to the farmers for giving to the food bank. Now my children are eating more nourishing food, and I am too.”

Receive Produce

Produce is available seasonally. To receive produce you must live in Abbotsford and living in a low income household. Please apply in person with the following.

  • Proof of household* income (2 pay stubs, proof of EI, pension or assistance & Child Tax Credit)
  • Health Cards for all family members
  • Picture ID

*household consists of all adults living in home.

Free Dental

Dental Clinic

With volunteer dentists, hygienists and dental assistants we are able to provide basic dental services to people in Abbotsford who live with a low-income.

The Food Bank has had a fully operational dental clinic in the Food Bank building since 2009.

Our main focus is to ensure everyone has access to the foods they need to thrive. Each month people have choice over the fresh produce, pantry staples and proteins that they bring home. To ensure everyone has access to food, hampers have options that are responsive to dietary restrictions and cultural preferences.
