Seva Food Pantry
Providing equitable access to nutritious and culturally appropriate food.
Why does Seva Food Pantry Exist?
COVID-19 has created more vulnerability for food insecurity due to social isolation and services temporarily shutting their doors (Gurdwara Kitchens, service agencies, etc.). Those within the community that are most at risk of food insecurity are newcomers to Canada, single parent families and seniors.
Emergency food support systems are well established but culturally appropriate food options are often not available and or there are unique barriers to access these community supports.
What does Seva Food Pantry do?
Archway’s Multicultural Department, in collaboration with the Food Bank, aims to create access to culturally appropriate food within Abbotsford’s South Asian and multi-ethnic groups.
Seva Food Pantry is currently providing 40 households with culturally appropriate food hampers once a month.
How Can I help?
You can help ensure our neighbours have access to the food they need.

$75 delivers culturally appropriate food for a household
By providing equitable access to nutritious and culturally appropriate food for families experiencing or at risk of food insecurity in Abbotsford we strengthen our community.
